Keller brought out a side in her that we didn’t get to see until it was too late – The scene where she goes to Keller drunk and soaked in the rain was so powerful. I'm definitely in the minority here and I won't be gushing over how beautiful the story was and such. I became aware of Alice’s Kids when they were mentioned by one of my favorite people, Patton Oswalt, on Celebrity Jeopardy! So, many kids who have this book read with their families might be experiencing some version of this story.Because “poverty shaming” can be a problem – Alice’s Kids provides these things in a way that doesn’t draw attention to the kids who receive them.
