About this deal

No it shouldn't if used correctly by following our instructions, however there is always a chance that the Linseed oil will seep into the paving. Whilst not essential, it is strongly recommended to "point" or "strike" the surface of the joints with a suitable finishing tool. There is no need to push EASY Joint into the joints, our paving compound does the hard work for you, falling into the paving gaps, filling voids and compacting. EASYJoint brush-in patio grout , is a really simple, fast and DIY friendly way to fill the joints in paving slabs and flagstones.

We advise cleaning the soles of them before walking across dried (or drying) paving to avoid leaving “footmarks”.

Do not shortcut this process, particularly if working with absorbent or sensitive materials such as Sawn Sandstone, Granite and many Limestone types. We strongly recommend not shortcutting this process, particularly when working with absorbent or sensitive materials such as Sandstone, Granite and Limestone. Freezing weather will increase the set time and will cause the process to virtually stop, it can take many days for the joints to set fully hard. A 6:1 bedding mix (six parts sharp sand to one part cement) when laying the paving is ideal in that it provides enough porosity in the mix for water to escape and the product to cure.

Use our handy, in-page, calculator to find out how much pointing product you require to install your paving. The paving joints are then completely filled without the need to kneel down and compress the grout into the joints by hand, saving your back and saving time! Jointology is the science of proper jointing for all kinds of small element paving from cobble to flags. EASYJoint is the UKs top selling paving jointing compound, favoured by professionals and DIY installers all around the world.

The best solution would be to get it laid as recommended by the suppliers and to then protect it by sealing it with one of our specialised EASYSealers, either EASYSeal BCS or EASYSeal Contract. It is important to note that linseed oil staining is only a temporary stain and exposure to sunlight, will over time, lift the marks and fade away. When applying dry, EASYJoint compound must be compressed, by striking off with a pointing tool into the joints as it will not self-compact in the same way it does when applied with water. A strong joint that will resist the elements and stand the test of time - better than traditional jointing methods. This product was first developed in 2009 and has now evolved to meet user demands and keep up with the latest trends in the industry.

To remove any debris, algae, lichen or fungi from your paving slabs and joints, use a light pressure wash over the surface (no more than once a year, using a “fan” type nozzle no closer than 150mm/6 inches from the surface). This product is Stone Grey coloured and will complement light, dark or medium grey paving by adding another layer of contrast. The joints can be cleaned by the cautious use of a pressure washer, keeping a fan type nozzle, at an angle, no closer than 150mm from the surface. Never allow EASY Joint to pile up in clumps or allow the paving to dry with any remaining grout on its surface. Unused but opened EASYJoint can be saved for later use by pouring it back into the tub (not in the bag) and covering it with at least 50mm of water.
